Poet turned singer-songwriter Leonard Cohens career spanned 70 decades and he’s regarded one of the greatest lyricists of all time. Bob Dylan was an admirer, describing Cohen as the ‘number one’ songwriter of their time, calling himself ‘number zero’. ‘Hallelujah’, his most recognizable song, was famously covered by John Cale and became a world-wide hit when Jeff Buckley released a version. In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked Leonard Cohen number 103 in their “200 Greatest Singers of All Time”.
